A Review of Camelback Lodge & Indoor Water Park
We had the pleasure of working with Camelback Lodge & Indoor Water Park in the Poconos Mountains during a recent trip to the East Coast and it was a blast! There is something for all ages to do and for every season of the year. We were there in September, which was absolutely gorgeous with all the green tree’s and the air just starting to turn cool. But I can only imagine what it would be like as a winter wonderland covered in snow. Here is a review of Camelback Lodge & Indoor Water Park…
(We were hosted for 2 nights by Camelback Lodge, but all opinions and photos are mine)
Lobby at Camelback Lodge
As soon as you walk in you are greeted with huge vaulted ceilings, a large fireplace with sitting areas and plenty of places to explore. There is a gift shop, coffee shop, skills center and restaurant all on the first floor and convenient to all guests.
Rooms at the Camelback Lodge
Our room was very spacious and had enough places to sleep 6 people. There were two queen beds and a pull out couch. Plus, a sweet table and chairs, fridge and microwave, sink outside of the tub/toilet area which is always nice and plenty of storage space for suitcases. We didn’t spend a ton of time in our room because there was so much to do in and around the hotel, but they were clean and exactly what we needed.
Food/Places to Eat at Camelback Lodge
There are plenty of options for food so you don’t have to leave the resort to eat. If you are in the water park there is a place called Burgers & More to grab quick bites like burgers, chicken fingers, salads and pizza. They had an option for a gluten free bun, which I really appreciated.
There is also a swim up bar called Oasis for adults that looked like the perfect hangout when the kids are busy on the slides. We also ate at Graffiti Pizza, which is a build-your-own kind of pizza place. Again, they had a gluten free cauliflower crust that was perfect for me. We also had the buffet breakfast at Hemispheres that had something for everyone to eat. Trails End Pub & Grille was a super popular spot for classic American eats and located on the ground level with an outside eating area. Lastly, if you just want a coffee or muffin you can head to the Cafe & Bar in the lobby.
Indoor Water Park at Camelback Lodge
We have been to a few water parks in our day and this rivaled the best. There were areas that suited kids and adults of all ages. There was the toddler area with shallow water and short slides, a slightly bigger kid area that had medium size slides and activities like basketball and jumping toadstools. Then there were the large slides some requiring a height of 42″-48″ to ride. One of our favorites was the new Mountain Mayhem which included fun lights and music as you rode down. There is also a lazy river, wave pool and an opportunity to either boogie board or surf. They also had an indoor/outdoor hot tub that I loved.
Free Activities at Camelback Lodge
Throughout the day you can find different free activities happening around the hotel. We stumbled upon bracelet making one day and a super cool reptile show the next night. We also enjoyed an outdoor movie night where they passed out free popcorn and candy (just make sure to bring your own blanket).
Indoor Activities at Camelback lodge
Besides the water park there are lots of other things to do inside the Camelback Resort. You can find an arcade center, mini-bowling alley, escape room, laser tag, rock wall climbing, ropes course, gem mining, and so much more. These are an additional fee, so our kids picked the ropes course and had a great time.
Outdoor Activities at Camelback Lodge
With such a beautiful setting, you don’t need too many excuses to head outside and you don’t have to go very far to find more fun. From zip lining, to the mountain coaster, to the tree top adventures and even UTV tours. Most of the big adventures you have to be over 60 pounds or be able to reach 5’11” with your arms over head, so we stuck to the mountain coaster for our family. The kids had a great time, it’s definitely something we will never forget.
So what do you think of our experience and our review of Camelback Lodge & Indoor Water Park? Are you putting Camelback Lodge on your list of MUST DO’S?;) Here are some new happenings at the resort this fall…
