A Super Easy Golden Birthday Party

“Today I AM GOLDEN.”

(We were hosted by Bowlmor for this party, but all opinions and photos are mine.)

Usually I try to combine our kiddo’s birthday parties since they are both September babies. But for certain numbers I’ve also always said that they can have their own party. For instance; 1, 5, 10, 16, 18, etc…This year our daughter is turning 5 so I told her she got to have a party, while our son was turning 7 and I told him he could just choose a friend to do something with on his special day. But then he reminded me that it was his GOLDEN BIRTHDAY, he was turning 7 on the 7th, which meant he really wanted to have a party too.

Since our house is currently under construction I knew we couldn’t have either party at home, so I asked the kids what they would like to do. Our son immediately said he wanted to have a bowling party and that seemed like a great idea to me (especially since his birthday is typically still very hot outside).

After looking around I realized that there are not too many recently built bowling alley’s in our area, but thankfully I found one that wasn’t too far from our house, it is called Bowlmor. It’s actually a bowling alley that is nation wide, you can find your local one by clicking HERE. This was, hands down, the easiest party I’ve ever planned and I think both kids and parents had a great time.

Bowlmor was so great to work with leading up to the party and their day of assistance was extremely helpful. I would book another party here in a heart beat! If you don’t feel like decorating at all, don’t worry, they have a great set up already there for you. I chose to bring a few things of my own, but I really didn’t need much. I added a gold tassel bannera gold birthday sign and some gold balloons to tie in our “Golden birthday” theme. They supplied the large jars for drinks and all the food trays.

With the package that we got each child received a $5 off coupon for their next bowl and an arcade card to play after we were done bowling. I also made little baggies filled with golden chocolates (found a large bag at Costco) and made a tag that read “Stay Golden.” Tags and cellophane bags I found an Amazon for just a couple bucks.

The food was actually delicious! I never thought I would say bowling alley food was indeed tasty, but it was and everyone thought the same as me. The chicken fingers and fries were the biggest hit and next time we go back I might decide for the taco bar!;) They had lots of options for food and I’m pretty sure any of it would be delicious.

I opted to bring my own dessert (although their giant chocolate chip cookie did sounds delicious). I went straight to my local Ralphs, I go every year & they never disappoint. They are always made fresh and super cheap! I had them write “Stay Golden Colton” on the cake and bought some gold sprinkles to keep with our theme.

The kids took to the arcade after bowling and continued their fun.

This was a party we literally planned in about a week. No Pinterest crafting, no super late nights finishing all the details…it was fantastic!;) Has your child celebrated a Golden Birthday yet? What do you think of our simple party? Check out some of my other parties HERE.
