Chapters not Chocolates
“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.” -Dr. Seuss
I love to read. Always have. I think it’s one of the reasons I loved Belle so much, I felt like we had so much in common. Her love of reading and adventure, it always resonated with me. I don’t often get to sit down with a novel anymore, books now revolve around great pictures and funny rhymes. But I do love passing on my love of literature to my children. Valentine’s Day is often convoluted with sweets and flowers, so instead of ruining your new diet or wasting money on flowers that die, maybe spend some time with a few new characters. Pick chapters not chocolates. Now I give you the best Valentine books for kids and adults.

Pete the Cat has become such a hit and I love this book I think more than the kids. It has great quotes about love, good for all ages!
I remember reading The Bernstein Bears when I was a kid so its really special to start reading them now to our kids. Love this one…
We have just started to read some of the Fancy Nancy books to our little miss and they are pretty cute, this Valentine one is no exception.
We adore all of the “If You Give A Mouse…” books and I got this one last year to add to our collection! Plus, this one comes with an audio version as well.
You definitely can’t go wrong with any of The Little Critter books plus they are so affordable to add to your library!

Now for some adult reading. I highly suggest buying your loved one a romantic book for Valentines Day, not only is it something thoughtful, but it also won’t ruin any of those New Years Resolutions that y’all might be working on!;) Here are some of my suggestions…
For the young at heart, I recommend the Twilight Series. I know what you may be thinking, but I actually loved these books! The story is unusual but familiar too; a girl torn between a forbidden, unexpected love and a best friend. Hey, don’t knock it till you try it!;)
A follow up on The Notebook comes The Wedding, a really beautiful story by the famous Nicholas Sparks who does romance so well…
My other favorite Nicholas Sparks book is The Choice, a must read!
And one more from Sparks, because I obviously love his books is The Last Song (I highly suggest reading this before you watch the movie)!
A bit more soul searching and gut wrenching love is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers (a great author as well).
And for something for both of you to read together is this beautiful Devotional called The Love Dare.
Well, I know there are probably many more suggestions, feel free to leave your favorites in the comments below! Just remember to vote chapters not chocolates this Valentine’s Day and happy reading to you!

Thanks girl! I kinda assumed you loved books too…just had the feeling!;) Chapters not Chocolates!
Love books. Before I discovered Shakespeare’s sonnets, I was romanced by silly Shel Silverstein’s “Light in the Attick.” Then I self selected Beverly Cleary’s, “Sister of the Bride” and I was hooked. I still remember the library hard covers with plastic protective covers and the magical musty pages. “Chapters over Chocolates” any day of the week, and twice on Tuesdays.
I don’t think I have ever read Light in the Attic or Sister of the Bride! But I do love the smell of a book and those plastic covers!;)
Fancy Nacy is our girls’ favorite! Love Dare is amazing! Fully support the Chapters not Chocolates xo
