First Look at DCL’s Newest Ship “The Wish”
“It isn’t that life ashore is distasteful to me. But life at sea is better.” -Sir Francis Drake
We are HUGE fans of the Disney Cruise Line, in fact we have been on five cruises with another one booked for October of this coming year (if all goes well with the pandemic). When DCL announced they were building a new ship, we were thrilled since we have been on all 4 of the current ships. I had the privilege to sit in on an exciting reveal of “The Wish” just last week and I am here to tell you, it is going to be amazing! Here is the first look at DCL’s newest ship “The Wish…”

When do bookings start? Did you know that the newest ship “The Wish” starts booking as early as May 17th for Platinum members? Gold members start May 24th. Silver members May 26th & general public May 27th.
We are proud members of the Gold Club, which means we have sailed with the Disney Cruise Line 5 times! Other benefits of being a gold member: reserving cruise activities 105 days prior to sailing, booking 2 days before the general public & special discounts on board…
Sliver membership means you’ve sailed 1-4 times. Gold 5-9 times & Platinum 10+ sailings. Each membership comes with different advantages.
Where is it sailing? The first inaugural summer it is sailing to Castaway Cay for 3 & 4 night sailings. In my humble opinion, you are going to leave wanting more. I always tell families to book at least a 5-night cruise. So with this being a brand new ship, with all new things to do, I may be booking 2 sailings back to back! LOL!
When do sailings start? June 9th, 2022
What is the Passenger Capacity? 4,000
What are the other ships like in comparison? There are 4 other Disney Cruise Line ships: Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy. Both the Magic and Wonder hold approximately 2,713 guests, while the Dream and Fantasy hold 4,000. The Magic and Wonder tend to do cruises like Alaska and Europe where some water ways require smaller ships. The Dream and Fantasy travel to Castaway Cay and other tropical destinations. Each ship has a different main stage show, my favorite thus far is the Beauty and the Beast show on the Dream.
So what do you think? Will you be placing this ship on your bucket list?? Let me know in the comments below! If you are looking for more DCL cruise info, I have lots of blog posts for you HERE!
