Disney Cruise Line: Ports of Call
“Fill your life with adventures, not with things. Have stories to tell not stuff to show.”
I was gifted a 7-night cruise with the Disney Cruise Line, but all opinions are mine!
Here we are; part 2 of my series The Magic of a 7-Night Disney Cruise. In the first part I talked all about how there is something to do for all ages. Let’s jump right in to the next topic…
Reason number two: More nights equals more ports/cities to explore
When you are on a 7 (or longer) night cruise you get to see more ports and explore more cities, which is another reason I love to cruise! It’s the best being able to have someone take you from city to city and not have to move hotels every single time. Quintessentially your hotel and all the fun comes along with you as you travel to different cities and/or countries. What could be better than that?

Disney Cruise Line: Ports of Call:
On the 7-Night Cruise to the Caribbean we ported in St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay.
- Our first stop was St. Maarten where we took a private 65-foot catamaran to a secluded island, it was a little piece of heaven on earth. The entire time I kept thinking “is this real life?” The sands were soft and the water was the most gorgeous clear blue, I pretty much didn’t want to ever leave.
- After St. Maarten we ported in St. Thomas where we were driven to a quiet little area called Abi beach. There was lunch, a few sand games and of course so much fun to be had in the sun and beautiful waters.
- Our last stop on the cruise was in Castaway Cay. This island is privately owned by Disney so you are the only ship to port there and use the area. There are endless amounts of fun to be had; snorkeling, swimming, jet skiing, etc…There is a splash pad for young kids, a few obstacle courses in the water, a huge water slide and more. There is also a kids club on the island so the adults can sneak away to the adult only area, which is a must do!!!
On the 7-Night Cruise to Alaska you get to port at Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. I wrote about our Alaskan experience here, but if you are looking for adventure in the great outdoors, this cruise is perfect for you. We LOVED Alaska and all of the beautiful scenery.
- First we ported at Skagway where we explored the town and my husband and I actually went ziplining without the kids.
- The next stop was Juneau where we took a helicopter flight to a glacier; which was a pretty epic moment. We also got to go dog sledding and even hold the little dog sledding babies.
- In Ketchikan we saw a super fun and entertaining Lumber Jack Show and then walked the town afterwards.
On the 7-Night Cruise to Europe we ported in places like Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno (Florence/Pisa) and Cannes (Monte Carlo/Nice).
- We started our cruise out in Barcelona, Spain and had so much fun exploring the city, the food and the culture.
- When we ported near Naples we went to the Amalfi coast and explored Sorrento, it was gorgeous!
- Our stop in Civitavecchia, or Rome, led us to the Trevi Fountain and the infamous Coliseum.
- After Rome we ported in Livorno where we had the options of visiting Florence, Pisa, or other Tuscany areas. Of course we had to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
- Then we made a final stop in the South of France to see Monte Carlo and the Casino Royale.
These are just some of the wonderful cities/ports you can see when you take a 7-night Disney Cruise. This year and next they have more destinations all over the world. You can now go explore the Norweigian Fjords (just like Ana and Elsa), take a trip to Mexico, Canada, even see the British Isles. These are all cruises that have at least 7 Nights, which if you haven’t gotten my advice yet, is the shortest amount of time you would want on a Disney cruise!;) LOL!
