Top 5 Things Not to Miss at Pixar Place Hotel
A wave of excitement has swept through the iconic Disneyland Hotels with the grand re-imagination of its newest gem – Pixar Place Hotel. Previously known as the Paradise Pier hotel, this renovation is a knock out of the park. We were invited to be part of the media premier and were hosted to quite the day! Pixar Place is bringing to life the beloved characters and stories that have captured our hearts for almost 20 years. From revamped rooms to a lively pool area and enticing dining options, the Pixar Place Hotel has truly transformed into a Pixar paradise. Here are the top 5 things not to miss at the Pixar Place hotel on your next visit.
#1 Don’t miss the theming:
From the moment you step into Pixar Place, the immersion into the world of Pixar is undeniable. The entire hotel has been re-imagined with Pixar-inspired theming, featuring larger-than-life murals showcasing characters from timeless classics like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Cars, Inside Out, Up, Coco and more. The vibrant colors and attention to detail do not go unnoticed. Also, don’t miss the hidden characters on the floor all over the hotel, it can be like a scavenger hunt for your kids.
#2 Don’t miss Great Maple:
For those seeking a delightful dining experience, Pixar Place introduces “Great Maple,” a restaurant that blends great food with Pixar charm. The menu is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Known for its amazingly delicious bacon donuts, I personally loved the Cobb salad, while the hubby was obsessed with the soda pop baby back ribs. They can make lots of the menu items gluten free including the burgers (doing a lettuce wrap), all of the salads, many of the main menu items and brunch favorites as well. Just make sure to ask your server and they can speak to the chef to make sure they accommodate your food allergy.
#3 Don’t miss the character interactions:
You have to take the time to meet a few characters while you stay at Pixar Place hotel. In the lobby you may find Joe Gardner from the movie Soul playing the piano, which is absolute perfection. On the pool deck you might find one of my all time favorites; Bing Bong from the movie Inside Out. He has his own area complete with the rainbow wagon rocket. Definitely don’t miss this opportunity!!
#4 Don’t miss the Pool Deck:
The pool deck at Pixar Place is super fun for both kids and adults alike. The pool itself has been transformed into a splash of Pixar colors. There is a playful splash pad, large water slide, pool and hot tub. Just adjacent to the pool there is “Small Bytes,” a poolside quick-service restaurant. They offer an array of snacks and beverages, operated by Great Maple restaurant (don’t miss the lemon cello drink).
On the pool deck you will also find lots of games like checkers, chess, shuffleboard, walking mazes and even a bao toss. I absolutely loved the fire pit area. It has fire pits based on 4 different characters from Pixar that all have to do with fire! So creative. On certain evenings there are different Pixar movies playing on the pool deck. Make sure to check with the front desk for show times. If you go for a swim, stay for a movie & snack, then make sure to grab a spot for the fireworks. This area is perfect for firework viewing as they plume the music to match the fireworks for your viewing pleasure.
#5 Don’t miss the Updated Rooms:
The Pixar magic extends into the hotel rooms, where a thoughtful redesign ensures a comfortable stay. Each room has Pixar-themed decor, from bedding to wall art, to carpet and even lamps. There are a variety of options for the size of rooms. We toured a basic double bed room and thought it was very spacious. If you are looking for something larger, or for more privacy from your kids, you may want to splurge for the 2-bedroom sweet. It has a large living room, small kitchen and very large bathroom suite.
Honorable Mention: Sketch Pad Cafe:
For guests on the go, “Sketch Pad Cafe” offers a quick and convenient dining option. There are a variety of grab-and-go options, as well as your favorite types of coffee. Whether you’re craving a quick bite between park adventures or looking for a tasty bedtime snack, Sketch Pad Cafe has you covered. This is also operated by Great Maple restaurant.
The re-imagination of Disney’s Hotel Pixar Place is nothing short of magical. From the vibrant theming, updated rooms, lively pool area and delicious dining options, every aspect has been carefully reimagined. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Pixar films, or a newcomer, Pixar Place is a fun destination for kids of all ages. What do you think of our Top 5 Things Not to Miss at Pixar Place Hotel?
