Top 5 Things to do at Animal Kingdom

We had the honor of being part of the Disney Creators Conference, which allowed us to visit all the parks at Disney World for the second time. There is so much to do at each park, you could spend a week at Disney World and still not see it all. I asked the kids and hubby and we all agreed on what we think are “must-do’s.” Here is our list of top 5 things to do at Animal Kingdom. I gave a few options within each number, not so you feel like you need to do each one, but to make sure families with different ages/heights had multiple choices.

I paid for my ticket to the Disney Creators Conference, but it was heavily discounted. All opinions and photos are mine.

1. Pandora- World of Avatar: Flight of Passage (44″) this is my favorite ride at the park because you literally feel like you are flying in the movie Avatar! Na’vi River (all heights) is a little boat ride perfect for the younger kids. Lastly, just walk around the land enjoying it’s beautiful scenery!

2. Entertainment: During the day the Finding Nemo Show or Lion King Show. We have seen both and love them equally as much! At night the Rivers of Light: We are One show using special effects and a beautiful musical score.

3. DINO LAND: the Dinosaur ride (40″), TriceraTop Spin (any height), Primeval Whirl (48″ & operates seasonally) and The Boneyard is a cute area for kids to run around and play. It reminds me of the Redwood Creek Challenge at California Adventure. 

4. Africa: Kilimanjaro Safari (any height) is one of our most favorite rides at Animal Kingdom. You get to see all the animals in their natural habitat and learn more about their rescue efforts. The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail (any height) is so much fun. Make sure to pick up a Wilderness Explorers packet and get stamps as you learn new facts about the animals you see. The Wildlife Express Train (any height) will take you to another area of the park to a petting zoo area and more.

5. Asia &/or Discovery Island: Expedition Everest (44″) or for the non-thrill seeker go visit Minnie and Mickey at Adventurers Outpost.
