Baby, it’s Cold in the OC
“Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”

Snow in Orange County is pretty rare, but once a year at The Discovery Cube you can find all things winter. We love their annual Winter Wonderfest and look forward to it all year long. This is our third year attending and each year it keeps getting better.
There are two real snow sledding areas, on smaller one that is perfect for little ones and one a little bigger for the older kids. Both you have to be old enough to ride on your own, so if your little one is not quite ready for that yet, you may want to hold off. The smaller one the kids sit on a small disk and the larger one is more like a sled. On the larger one there are two tracks so you can try to race whoever is going next to you.
Next up is the tube sledding. This is actually on artificial snow, but it is still SNOW MUCH FUN!;) There are two different heights, the tallest one measuring in at 75 feet. Both of my kiddos tried the smaller ramp, but only my son was brave enough to try the largest one.
Next up we went to play in the snow area. The kids had a great time digging into the snow, throwing snow balls, making snow angels and little snowmen.
(ad) Check out the #winterwonderfest at @DiscoveryCubeOC before it melts away! #discoverycubeoc Click To TweetMy kids had the best time checking out the science of ramps and testing out a theory. I love how The Discovery Cube always knows how to make science and learning fun. We spent a good amount of time experimenting which ramps would cause more friction and which blocks with a certain amount of surface space would work better. My son wanted to come home and make all of these ramps for more experimentation!
There was so much to do outside in the snow, but if you buy tickets it also includes entrance into the The Cube to check out their Science of Gingerbread and the Gingerbread Derby exhibits as well. If you buy your tickets online a family of 4 can save $22. If you are looking for something fun to do while the kids are on break from school I highly recommend going to The Discovery Cube for their Winter Wonderfest. Runs Dec 22-Jan 7, 2018.
How fun!!! Colton is so brave!!! Your such a cool mom, Jenny!!! Love watching all the fun adventures you take!!! Thanks for posting!!! Love!!!
This looks like so much fun! I remember one year growing up when it snowed in Huntington Beach. I mean, it melted before it hit the ground, but we were doing some excavating in the backyard and had a huge mound of excess dirt so I went on stood on top so I could touch the snow. 🙂
