Party Fun

A Disney Zombies Birthday Party

“One for all this party ain’t private, one for all everyone’s invited, one for all!!”

Can hardly believe our youngest just turned 7, but here we are, another year older. Last year she picked a Fancy Nancy French themed party, which you can read HERE, this year she wanted a Disney Zombies birthday party at our gymnastics center. If you haven’t watched the Zombies movies on Disney Plus, they are actually pretty cute. Think High School Musical, but with nice zombies and werewolves, the music and dancing is really catchy.

Anyways, on to the party. Just so you know, we purchased everything on Amazon and we were not given any discounts on the location, but I still like to share so you can get ideas for your next party too.

Location for our Zombies Party:

Our local gymnastics center. Since a lot of the characters in the movie are cheerleaders who do flips and tricks, we thought having it at our gymnastics center was a perfect fit. Plus, it took the entertainment right out of my hands, allowing me to just do a few decorations and food prep. The kids got to jump, bounce, run, leap, flip and spin while the grown ups had a chance to chat and watch (or even join in some of the fun).

Decorations for a Zombies Birthday:

Like our son’s birthday this year (which you can read about HERE), I didn’t go all arts and crafty. I kept things so simple, which made my life pretty easy. I ordered a party box that came with Zombies balloons, birthday banner, cupcake toppers & cake topper.

I also ordered a sparkly pink backdrop to hang up for photos, just make sure to bring extra thumb tacks because the sticky side ended up not working well.

I always do a letter board with their name and age, mostly so that when I look back at photos I can easily tell which birthday party I am looking at (mom hack #235). This time I also did a letter board with some of the lyrics to a song from the Zombies movie.

On the table I made sure all the girls had pom poms as well as big bows like the ones Addison wears in the movie (I added a little gem to spruce them up). For the boys we ordered mega phones and just used stickers to put their initials on it. Thought this was something the kids could play with and parents wouldn’t feel bad if it ended up in the trash in a few weeks.

Food:

Since the party was in-between lunch and dinner we decided to just do all snacks. We did fruit trays, meat and cheese trays, crackers and chips, plus cupcakes and cake. It was a nice change from the usual pizza we pass out. Cake and cupcakes were from Ralphs, as always since they have such great prices and can usually make whatever I need.
