Gift Ideas for the Most Challenging People

“The best gifts are the ones you give.”

(This post is sponsored by Garmin, but all opinions are mine. It also contains affiliate links, thank you in advance for shopping through me)

Some people are so difficult to buy for because they already have most things they need or what they really need you can’t afford to buy them. My husband is one of those people. When he see’s something he needs, he usually buys it, or he will take back whatever else he doesn’t think he needs.

So here are some gift ideas for the challenging person on your list, I hope you find it helpful. I am going to divide it up for a few different age groups and female vs. male…

Young Female

*Garmin Watch – My daughter recently was gifted a Frozen 2 VIVO Fit Jr. smart watch by Garmin and now, a few months later, I can officially say she still loves it! She goes to school and shows all her friends how many steps she has taken, or just the cute design. She wears it to Disneyland and gets excited when she gets different awards for hitting her exercise goal! It also links with an app on my phone that is strictly parent controlled, but also allows her to check on her progress and earn different prizes. You can read all about the watch HERE!

*Scooter/Bike – Our favorite scooter is the micro blade since it has two front wheels, instead of one, so it’s easier to steer and balance (click photo to shop).

*Meaningful jewelry: Lillian and Co. is my favorite jewelry company with different quotes from your favorite movies (a lot of them Disney).

*Makeup – This makeup set is great for little ones from Petite n’ Pretty

*Princess Dress Up – Our favorite dress up shop since all the dresses are machine washable, comfortable and affordable (click photo to shop).

*Day of Adventure – This depends on the type of person she may be, but some suggestions are Mani/Pedi, Tea Party/Brunch, Day at the Beach or a day at Disneyland/Disney World. You can find Disney deals HERE and use code PRINCESSMOM for an extra discount.

*Tickets to a show – Some options might be Disney on Ice, Kids Bop on Tour, etc…

*TIME SPENT TOGETHER!! Sometimes the best gift you can give anyone is just simple time spent together.

Adult Female

*Garmin Watch – So, I have to be honest, I have tried the FitBit and the Apple Watch, so trust me when I say that the Garmin watches for adults are some of the best of the market! I didn’t think they could beat my Apple Watch, but they got me when they said the battery life would last me up to 7 days!!

You can get texts, emails and alerts on the watch as well as track sleep, activity/exercise, download songs and more. Once connected to your phone you can check your daily goals for steps, floors climbed, calories burned and even your heart rate. You can also see your stress level, respiration and even track your monthly cycle. You can join the weekly steps challenge or create your own challenge and invite others to join you. And did I mention that they have some of the most beautiful designs?!? I LOVE the Star Wars design that was gifted to me, made with the Rey fan at heart (they also have a Darth Vader inspired watch that would be great for the guy in your life).

*Subscription to Disney Plus

*Meaningful Jewelry: Lillian and Co. again is a great option. There really is something for everyone!

*Spa Day!! Some of my local Southern California favorites are Glen Ivy and Burke Williams

*Family Photography Session – if you haven’t had family photos outside of Christmas this can make a great gift.

*Gift Cards to our favorite stores AND the alone time to actually go use gift cards!!! Unlike males (at least per my husband), women are happy to receive gift cards, BUT we usually don’t get time to actually enjoy shopping. So go ahead and give us those Nordstrom, Target, Sephora, Disney gift cards and then let us go!;)

*Girls Day Out: Again, sometimes all we really want is a trip to the nearest cafe and a good chat with a friend/sister.

*Gym/Exercise Membership: Has the lady in your life been hinting she wants to get better at working out? Give her a gym membership or a class card to a pilates/yoga/spin studio. I did have a few ladies say they wanted the Peloton bike instead of a gym membership. Just know your audience on this one because if your spouse/girlfriend didn’t hint about it she may take offense to it.

*Fix it man or professional organizer for a day (or a few days). To fix or organize all the little things around the house that no one ever has time for!

*Regularly schedule date night planned by someone else (including babysitter if needed). Women tend to plan most dates (after marriage), so why not take the initiative and plan some dates without her knowing! But make sure to have her save the date on her calendar!;)

*Mother’s Helper: Sometimes all we really need is someone to do the laundry or cook a meal so we can have time to actually play with the kids. OR maybe we need someone to play with the kids while we escape to Marie Kondo our closet. Whatever the case, find a local high school/responsible person to come and help once in a while.

*VACATION: Ok, I know this one is a no-brainer because who doesn’t love a good vacation, but I had to put it on the list. My top spots would be Disney Aulani (they have a kids club for ages 3-12, read more about it HERE), Disney Cruise Line to anywhere really (they also have a kids club for ages 3-18 CHECK OUT THIS PAGE FOR MORE INFO), Adventures by Disney, Disneyland or Disney World for a few days, or just a quiet beach spot with a kids club attached. NOTE: there is a theme that the vacation would ideally have the option for child care!;)

*TIME SPENT TOGETHER!!

Young Male

*Garmin watch – No surprise here that this is on the list again. Our son was gifted the Garmin VIVO Fit Jr. Star Wars watch for Christmas and he is going to love it! It has all the amazing tracking capabilities as the Frozen one I mentioned earlier, but now it has his favorite Star Wars characters on it. He will be able to track his activity levels and earn prizes along the way. I can’t wait for him to open this gift on Christmas Day!

*Tickets to a sporting event or concert, try this website for locations near you.

*Weekend Getaway – It could be simple, like a drive up the coast, or out to the desert (Palm Springs or Las Vegas if you are on the west coast). Maybe a short cruise (we always love a good Disney cruise) and there are lots of departures on both coasts.

*Time spent together!!!
