Raya and the Last Dragon Movie Review

Other: We LOVED this movie!! I was in tears throughout the film because of how it pulls at your heartstrings. It is such a beautiful story of how trust and hope can be found in the most unlikely of places.

In the movie, the country is divided over hate and people only look after their own. They allow themselves to have misconceptions and prejudices based on generations of folklore. But when Raya uncovers that at the heart we are more similar than different, it breaks down the barriers of what each group had been taught. I couldn’t think of a more timely message for our current world!

I always try to warn parents if I think there are any super scary parts for young kids. The “evil” character in this movie is less of a character and more of a rolling cloud that turns people to stone. I could see how this would be pretty scary for little ones. Mine were fine, but they are ages 6 and 8 and have watched quite a few movies with more intense scenes.
