Party Fun

A Big Ballet Birthday Bash

Welcome to Rosie’s Big Ballet Birthday Bash! I mean, who doesn’t love a good alliteration?;) Here we are again, another trip around the sun for our Rosalie Belle. We love to throw a fun girly party, like her Broadway party, which you can read here, or her cat party here. And this year was no different! I can’t believe this is her last year before she is officially a teen. Before I get all sappy, here are the details from her Twirling into 12…

A Big Ballet Birthday Bash

Decorations:

This theme was pretty easy for us, since the girl dances so much. We had old pointe shoes and I ordered a few dance photos to place in frames as part of the decor. I ordered one ballet themed party package from Amazon that included balloons, plates, napkins, table covers, cupcake toppers and a few other miscellaneous items. You can shop all of that HERE.

I did a few more personalized balloons by ordering the letters to “twirling into 12” and two ballerina balloons that we hung outside. We also had some fabric that I hung up on either side of the table to make it look like a stage with curtains. I happened to have the lace tablecloth, a ballerina statue and a few other things like candles and florals to make it a bit more feminine.

Treats

I ordered treat boxes so the girls could take home a few sweets. We made these tutu-cute marshmallow treats by using pink cupcake liners. marshmallows, pink sugar and lollipop sticks (shop those items here). We also did a chocolate barre, which I thought was a cute play on words. And just because the birthday girl loves chocolate chip cookies, we had some small ones for their boxes and one giant one.

Favors:

Besides the treat boxes, we also had one other item for the girls to bring home. I found these adorable tutu scrunchii’s on Amazon and couldn’t resist (find them here). We added the “thanks for twirling by” on each one for a more personal touch. Then we let each girl pick the color of scrunchii that she wanted.

Food:

We kept it super simple, with just a few of the birthday girls favorite things. She loves Chick-fil-A nuggets, so we ordered a large tray and asked for some boxes so the girls could just grab and go. We also had fruit, veggies, chips, croissants and of course dessert.

Activities:

Since we did an evening party, we didn’t need a bunch of planned activities. The girls had dinner, then it was outside for our outdoor movie night and swimming. We put up a projection screen and watched a dance themed movie. At this age, I think it was just the right amount of planned fun.

Recap:

Overall, this was a very easy birthday party to plan. we didn’t go overboard, which can be easy to do when you start looking at Pinterest. In the end, the girls all had fun and that was the main pointe!;) What do you think of our big ballet birthday bash?
