A Trip to SkyPark at Santa’s Village
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”
We love all things Christmas, especially making new traditions that we will do with our kids for years to come. Last year we were invited & given tickets to the newly renovated SkyPark at Santa’s Village, we had so much fun that we knew we had to go back this year. There are lots of things to do while you are there and I am going to share with you some of our favorites.
What is a good age to take your kids? Although the park is definitely stroller friendly, I do think a child at least 2 years of age would get more out of the experience. There are quite a few activities that are done by age/weight and a baby/young toddler would not be able to do those. Ideally, I would say ages 3 and older.
What is included in your general admission ticket? For a general admission ticket you get entrance into the park, you can meet Santa in his house, ride your bikes along the trails, ride the small train, visit with Christmas characters that roam the park, watch different shows; puppet show, magic show, music show or tree lighting.
You can also try your luck at archery, rock climbing, ride a tricycle around a themed path, bounce on a trampoline (this line tends to move slow, try to pick a time when there is not too many people in line), a small zip line and playground area, as well as a large zip line (must be over 60 pounds) and even ice skating (must be at least 2 years of age)!
Check out all the fun at @SantasVillageCA #santasvillage Click To TweetThere is also a night time walk through the forest with lanterns, but we didn’t make it past 5pm because it got pretty cold.
Are there places to eat? There are a few options for food. There is the St. Nick restaurant that has a walk up order area but ample seating inside and out with heat lamps and fireplaces. They have pizza, salad, tacos, sandwiches, burgers and more. There is a BBQ restaurant that we ate at our first year, this was more of a sit down experience and we found the kids were a bit restless wanting to get out and run around. This year I also noticed a hot dog stand that had some munchies as well as hot dogs. You can also fill up on sweets at the Kandy shop as well as the Gingerbread House that has tons of sweet baked goods.
What are some of the “Extra’s?” If you want to do a few more things, not included in your general admission ticket, they do have a few options. You can start with breakfast with Santa, meet the big man and be treated to an array of food in a beautiful setting.
You can also have tea with Mrs. Clause, this was sweet, but I think the cookie decorating would be more ideal for little kids to have an actual activity to do.
Santa’s workshop you can buy a craft to make with some elves or write a letter to Santa and mail it for free.
