Girly Room Makeover on a Budget

We recently realized that our baby girl needed an update on her room. She is almost 6 and was still sleeping in her toddler bed. I had a few ideas, but knew I couldn’t spend a fortune. Once I showed her a few options she picked a canopy bed and we went from there. I was surprised that the canopy bed was actually a lot more affordable than the trundle beds I was looking at, which was a total score!! I found this one on Amazon and it shipped very quickly. It was not hard to put together and turned out great! Here is what the room looked like before…

Here is the in between stage. We purchased bedding on Amazon, but I soon realized that it was too difficult for her to make her own bed since it was against the wall. So I knew we had to do something else!

Now here is the final product. Introducing Beddy’s bedding and the hallelujah chorus! This was the answer to all of our bed making problems. Not only is it super cute, stylish and functional, but all you have to do to make the bed is zip it up!! Check out all of their amazing options HERE and use code PRINCESS for 15% off your order! This bedding was gifted to us, but all opinions are mine.

She also wanted a fabric over the canopy so we found one that had stars that glow in the dark. She thought this was one of the coolest things and again, it was very affordable.

Rosie obviously loves her new set up, I can’t believe our little girl is in a big girl bed now!

A few of the little detailed items I already had since she was a baby, but we moved a few things around to make it feel like new. I found a similar jewelry box for under $20. The storage cube and bins are from Target, they are the perfect place to keep toys!

These frames sat empty for the last few years and I finally ordered prints from Shutterfly, which is such a great place for cheap prints! They also do canvas prints all at reasonable prices! I went with a variety of frames, but you could do all the same size for a more uniform look.

These bookends were actually mine from when I was younger, but they fit perfect in her room. I found a similar pair.

This dress up rack she has had for a while and we have loved using it for all our costumes. I found a similar one on Amazon for around $100, which I think is a great price!

What is your favorite part of the room? Is your little one in a big bed yet? One more affordable tip for you: instead of buying any kind of bed rail, buy a large pool noodle and stick it under the fitted sheet. It is just enough for them to have a little bumper so they don’t fall out of bed. Once they get the hang of it you can toss the pool noodle, which probably only cost about a dollar or two.

Yes! Sometimes just decluttering and moving a few things around can make a big difference.

I absolutely LOVE that opening quote!!! ❤️…What a perfect way to open a room makeover post. And who painted the name on the wall??? So we’ll done! Must have been professionally done! 😉

Yes, my husband repainted her wall and the name! He is a regular Leonardo Da Vinci!:)
