Holidays at The Great Wolf Lodge
“This is where the fun stuff happens”
We were invited to the Great Wolf Lodge for “Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day” and we had a blast!! It wasn’t our first time visting the hotel, we stayed there a few years ago when it first opened (you can read my full review here), but we were super excited to go back. There is always so much to do at Great Wolf Lodge and this event was no exception. We also got a sneak peak at all of the holiday fun that is just around the corner, which I am going to share with all of you.
Since this event was all about a kids takeover of the kitchen the head chef Hany, came out to give us some information about the food at Great Wolf Lodge. I was happy to hear that they make it a huge priority to go above and beyond for people with food allergies. He said they love to create kids favorite dishes like Mac n cheese, pizza, chicken nuggets and can do it gluten free, nut free, dairy free, etc…He loves a good challenge and let me tell you when I say the food we had at lunch was phenomenal. I often have a hard time finding really good gluten free options and I was not just impressed I was ready to pack up all the extra food and bring it home!;) LOL!
And did I mention that for the Kids Takeover they invited a very special young chef who just happens to be on our favorite TV show?!? Parker Bates who plays young Kevin on the hit show, This is Us on NBC, loves to cook and helped all our kiddos in the kitchen. He was so sweet and our Rosie girl even had a crush on him, which I can’t say I blame her!;)
After lunch the kids headed into the kitchen to make some special treats with the head chef. The each got their own set of Rice Krispie wolf ears to dip in chocolate, I got to try a piece and it was deliciously sweet.
Lots of healthy & allergy friendly food options @greatwolflodge #greatwolflodge Click To TweetOnce out of the kitchen we were given a “Paw Pass” which has different levels and can be purchased by any hotel guest. It is great if you plan on adding on some of the “extra” fun the hotel has to offer.
On our Paw Pass we were able to try out the Magi-Quest – a fun wizard type scavenger hunt done with wands and a little bit of magic. Kids can go all around the hotel looking for ways to use their magic wands to bring clues/maps to life.
Creation Station – you can pick out one of the adorable Great Wolf Lodge’s characters and bring them to life.
The Arcade – I think our son had as much fun here as he did anywhere else. It’s really a shame he wasn’t more excited!;)
The Candy Company – which was a new addition since we had stayed here the last time. A super cute sweet shop that had all our favorite things!
Glitter Tattoo Station – I think this might have been Rosie’s favorite stop of the day. Anything that sparkles and shines, sign her up. Plus, this tattoo has lasted forever, in fact 5 days later it’s still going strong!
The Water Park – of course no trip would be complete without a few hours spent at the amazing water park!
And no event would be complete without my favorite bloggers; Kim from The Parentologist and Christina Patricio.
