Over 25 Elf on the Shelf Ideas
We love to do Elf on a Shelf, and we realize we only have a short amount of time where the kids will believe in the magic, so we like to be creative! But I have to be honest and say coming up with new ideas on where to hide him each night can be tricky. That’s why I decided to share some things we have done in past years to help some of you. 2. We actually froze our Elf and blamed Elsa.
3. Last year was the first time we added a second elf and they rode in on on airplane…
4. Sometimes they get caught up in lights…
5. Other times they bring an activity like cookie mix.
6. Occasionally they will bring a gift, like matching slippers for the family.
7. They also just like to hang around.
8. There are times they get into a little bit of mischief.
9. They love leaving out a puzzle for the kids to do.
10. They also stay on trend with popular games the kids are playing.
11. Not all the toys are welcoming…
12. In our house they definitely do some reading of the reason we celebrate Christmas.
13. They enjoy a ride on the Christmas train.
14. The elves love setting up games with the other stuffies like sack races.
15. Sometimes they like to sew up a new Christmas outfit for the kids.
16. Getting wrapped up in wrapping is a common affair.
17. Bringing sweet Christmas tree treats is a yearly tradition.
18. They even do some zip lining on candy canes.
19. They love to play with the kids toys, especially ones that they can hide in, for this we used some Magnatiles.
20. The kids always get a new book to read for the holiday season, so of course the elves wanted to read them first.
21. Heights are no issue for our elves, they can still keep an eye on things, especially with our borrowed binoculars.
22. Some nights call for a cereal bath with their besties.
23. Playing hide and seek in the Christmas tree is always a good idea.
24. Making snow angels is one of their favorite pastimes.
25. A science experiment with candy is one that stands out. Leave a note to add hot water to a ring of skittles to see a rainbow!
26. We also put our elf in a container so they can go on special holiday activities with us!
27. On the very last day our elves snuck into the kids rooms and took photos of themselves with the kids while they were sleeping and left the photos for them to see.
