Solo Made Me A Star Wars Fan

I have a big confession…I have never sat through an entire Star Wars film…until just recently. The hubby and I got to see a sneak peak of the new Solo: A Star Wars Story movie before it came out to the public. I was super nervous going in because of the most obvious reason; I really didn’t know much about the characters or story lines, which I’ve heard are pretty complex.

But the good news is, you don’t have to see any of the other Star Wars films to see this movie!! What is even better is now that I have seen Solo, I was so enthralled that it made me come home and want to watch all the other movies. I can hardly believe it, but Solo made me a Star Wars fan! There was romance, action, humor, a great story line and great acting. It kept me guessing all the way till the end, even though I knew it was really just the beginning.;)

This story takes place before episodes 4-6 and introduces us to the main character Han Solo. We learn how he got his name (which was super clever), how he became a pilot and even where he and his best friend, Chewbacca, met for the first time. I have to say, after watching I also became a huge fan of Chewbacca!

I don’t want to give too much away, because I want you to go see it! Honestly, it made a great date night movie. If your kids have watched all the Star Wars films I know they will love it too, but we have some pretty sensitive kids, so we will be holding off to show it to them for a little bit. There are a few scary characters throughout the movie and some pretty decent fight scenes that are a little too mature for our 3 and 5 year olds.
