Party Fun

An Epic Star Wars Birthday Party

“May the force be with you.”

We decided to combine the kids birthday parties this year since there were no huge milestones we were hitting. Our daughter was turning 4 and our son 6 and both agreed on a Star Wars Party since we had just watched all the movies over the summer. I knew we needed to have a few things to make this party pretty epic, so without further adu I give you our EPIC Star Wars Birthday Party…

Entertainment– what would a Star Wars party be without Jedi Knight training?!? I called upon the best in the business; Character Masters. Located here in Southern California, but willing to travel, they are amazing! Brandon, the owner, came as a Jedi master trainer to teach all the kids how to become a Jedi and to eventually fight the dark side when Darth Vader appears. Each child had a chance to defeat Vader, make their own saber and get a certificate of their accomplishments. We also had R2D2 roll into the party with C3PO as well as Chewbacca and Princess Leia who did face painting. The kids were entertained the entire time and even the grown ups thought it was pretty epic! If you mention my blog you can get $15 off your birthday party package!!

Photo Back drops– If hanging out with all the Star Wars characters wasn’t enough, we also had some super fun backdrops borrowed from the very talented Back Lot Party Props. This mom/daughter combo hand constructed and painted each of these fun backdrops for our party and everyone loved them! They were such a hit I asked if they would honor a discount if one of you booked a party with them through the end of this year! So, use code “Princess Turned Mom” for 10% off! And I’m showing you a few photos of their other work as well…

DecorationsI tried to keep it pretty simple by using an Etsy shop downloaded file to print all of my decor. I’m not so sure it made it easier, but it did keep the cost of things down and if you have a good printer then it can definitely save you some money to print everything at home. We printed the invitations, banner, cupcake toppers, etc…all from our own printer. I even printed some photos of the kids at Disneyland in their Star Wars outfits and added them to the backdrop with some star cut outs.

FoodI definitely went all out with theming the food for the party. Each item had a clever name that corresponded with a character or place in Star Wars.

Well, that pretty much sums up this Star Wars party. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast (I think the adults had just as much fun). Are your kids into Star Wars? What was your favorite part of our party?
