“We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.” -Pooh Bear

We had the honor of attending a preview screening of the new Christopher Robin movie at the Disney Animation Studios. I always feel blessed to be among the first few that get to see some of these Disney movies before they make it to the public. And this was a special treat that we got to see it at the studios in Burbank. There is something so magical about walking around the same spots that Walt Disney once walked as well, where the magic was first brought to life.

I’ve always loved Winnie the Pooh, I remember watching the cartoon as a kid and loving all of the sweet characters. This movie takes us to where Christopher Robin is all grown up and has forgotten all about his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. We see him go off to war, get married and even have a child of his own. But the stresses of being an adult become too much and it puts his family life in danger. Finally, his dear friend Pooh actually comes looking for him to get his help with a problem back in the woods.

The story is so heart warming and I saw how Christopher Robin resembles parents like me; sometimes feeling overhelmed by the daily grind of being an “adult” and being “responsible.” But as the story continues we see how growing up doesn’t have to mean forgetting to be young at heart, instead the movie encourages us to do nothing sometimes. “Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing” says Pooh. In our society we often think that doing nothing is a bad thing, that it produces laziness. But Pooh reminds us that doing nothing just means being less busy and having the time to slow down to enjoy the little things in life, like your family. This movie is a wonderful reminder to be present and enjoy your family while they are still around to enjoy them.

This is definitely a family friendly movie for all ages! Make a date and enjoy some time together seeing this magical movie. I will say my only advice is that if you have super little ones (under the age of 3) they may get a little squirmy. Since it is live action, not a cartoon, there were a few times our daughter (who is almost 4) got some ants in her pants!;) LOL! So you may want to wait if your littles watch mostly cartoons.

The day was also made sweeter because my favorite mom blogger Christina Patricio and her kiddos were able to attend the screening. It is always so great being with her and getting our families together!

And of course we brought our favorite Winnie the Pooh bag from Petunia Pickle Bottom, which you can shop by clicking on the link. These backpacks are so great because they have a cooler on the bottom and so much space! I have one in this print and the Mickey and Minnie print, I love them both!! (The link provided is an affiliate link which means I would make a very small commission if you purchased the bag, which I would be very appreciative)

The value of doing nothing….definately has a powerful message! In a often, complicated, hectic, and busy world, Pooh says it perfectly!! Enjoy the sweet honey, of life all around!! Worth the reminder!!
