The Legoland Castle Hotel Review

“Keep calm and play with LEGO’s.”

We were given a “media rate” for our stay, but all opinions and pictures are mine.

We had the opportunity to visit the new Legoland Castle Hotel and the kids had the best time! If you never read my review of our stay at the original LEGOLAND HOTEL, you can do that here. And instead of blabbing on and on about the new hotel I am going to show you some of our favorite parts.

the entrance to the castle hotel

Driving up to the hotel was pretty impressive, it really does look like a castle. There is a huge drawbridge to enter into the lobby and both kids felt like royalty (so did the adults).

Lobby at the Castle Hotel

As soon as we entered the kids were immediately playing. There was a LEGO pit that they jumped into so they could build their own creations, a slide, which was such a hit, a dungeon and even characters roaming about.

Treasure Hunt at the Castle Hotel

Once we checked in and pulled the kids away from the lobby we were sent on a treasure hunt. There were clues that lead you to write down certain numbers which was the lock combo on a safe in your room. Once the safe was unlocked both kids were given a new set of LEGO’s.

Rooms at the Castle Hotel

What I love so much about the Legoland Hotels is that the kids are separated from the adults. They are in their own area with bunk beds and then the parents have their own space, each with a tv. Each floor has a different theme to the rooms, ours was magic wizard, the other themes are Knights & Dragons and Royal Princess.

Of course the kids loved that there was a LEGO table in their bedroom area and went straight to work.

The “adult” side had a super comfy bed, sitting area and tv.

The room also had the cutest little look out hole that the kids could reach, which they were pretty excited about.

The Pool at the Castle Hotel

The kids loved that there were floating LEGO’s at the pool to build rafts and more. The shallow end was like a beach where you just walk in slowly and had fun fountains that tipped over.

I personally loved the colorful chairs and cabanas that made for a particularly cheerful photo.

The Playground at the Castle Hotel

I am pretty sure this was the kids favorite area of all, in fact they are still talking about it weeks later. They LOVED this obstacle course type playground that is at the center courtyard of the hotel. There is so much to do and play, the kids seriously didn’t want to leave.

The Movie Lawn

Right next to the playground is the movie lawn with a huge projection screen which would play different shows and of course LEGO movies throughout the day. There was also some grass games you could play as well.

Dining Experiences

There is a dining experience called “Dragons Den,” which includes breakfast with your stay, but you could also eat there for other meals. There were interactive games and even a few live story telling experiences while you eat your meal. You can also order food poolside from the little cafe on the deck.

Other Activities at the Castle Hotel

Besides the playground, pool, lobby, movies and food there are also scheduled activities throughout your stay. There are games, storytellings, interactive shows, LEGO building competitions, etc that your kids can get involved in while visiting. We had planned on going into LEGOLAND the next day because you do get “early access” into the park when you stay at one of their hotels, but the kids were having so much fun at the hotel that we decided to stay longer and just enjoy the amenities.
